Gear up for a powerhouse keynote as Christy-Faith exposes the harsh truth: mainstream schools are failing our kids. In this thought-provoking address, she dissects the outdated education system and champions a revolutionary approach that fosters individual growth, ignites a love for learning, and reclaims childhood while restoring family connection. This keynote is a rallying cry to question the status quo and embrace a radical shift in how we educate our children. Christy-Faith reveals why sending your kids away to the government system could never compare to the transformative possibilities of homeschooling. You’ll leave empowered with fresh insights, emboldened to stand firm in your commitment to homeschooling, and inspired to propel your family toward a more meaningful and fulfilling educational journey.

A Biblical Worldview Education is built around the idea of not just teaching subjects, but showing the interconnection among the subjects and then teaching students how to reason — how they see the world — from the Christian worldview. Everything in the curriculum is interconnected to worldviews. It’s not an add-on, but the foundation: students learn to see all subjects (history, literature, science, arts) through the lens of the Biblical worldview. The goal isn’t just academic achievement, but spiritual formation: helping students develop life assumptions rooted in faith, discernment , and character. Rather than rote memorization, a Biblical Worldview Education encourages critical thinking and helps students understand why they believe what they believe. In addition, subjects are not taught as isolated compartments. Students will investigate connections across disciplines, so students can perceive how, for example, history and literature reflect similar themes.

Many homeschoolers struggle with self-doubt and/or criticism for their decision by well-meaning friends and family. In this session, Israel will tackle some of the top objections people raise about home education and will give statistics and fact-based answers to help give you confidence to defend your choice to home educate.

There is a careful tension that must be maintained between being your child’s authority figure and being their life coach. There is a necessary shift in approach that must take place as your children go through various stages of development. If this transition is not carefully managed, your parenting approach will likely backfire resulting in a lack of influence in your child’s life. Learn the proper balance in this important message.

For many men, homeschooling has been looked at largely as something their wife does. Many believe that if they pay the bills, that is really all that God expects of them. Biblically speaking, what is the proper role for men in the process of home education?

Homeschool families are often portrayed as retreating from culture. In reality, they are investing in the slow, unseen work that shapes the future. This session encourages Nebraska families to see their faithfulness as long-term cultural engagement. Christian homeschooling does not withdraw from the world; it prepares children to enter it with clarity, courage, and conviction. Revival does not begin with slogans or protests, but with truth taught patiently, lived consistently, and passed to the next generation

It is essential that parents learn to help their children navigate the bewildering intersections of culture and values. It can be difficult to diagnose what causes wrong turns; too often our attempts to parent wisely are based on inaccurate presuppositions. Join Daniel Schwabauer for a revealing look at the nature of American culture and how it affects generational change.

This session will encourage parents to focus on their child's heart and spiritual growth in the midst of their homeschool day. They will learn how to weave everyday homeschool moments into discipleship opportunities. Parents will leave equipped and encouraged to disciple their children lovingly, authentically, consistently, and intentionally, focusing on their hearts and encouraging a love for Jesus and others.

Come, let's gather together to discuss the importance of what you read! And in doing so, may we consider how what you read can build Christlike Character! Every Lamplighter story/book undergirds several Biblical Truths, and displays in its story and through the characters, character strengths and weaknesses we all deal with. Because the gospel is woven through every story, you and your children will learn what true saving faith is and how through a relationship with Jesus Christ, Christlike character can be built! We'll hear several Lamplighter stories, discuss the various character traits found in each of the books, and talk about how to cultivate the truths held in these stories. This session will be encouraging, relaxing, and make clear the importance of selecting what is read and why!

We teach our children from a biblical worldview. So, why are so many children from Christian homes abandoning the Bible, the church, and ultimately the faith? In this talk, we discuss the cognitive process of how this divorce between biblical worldview instruction and biblical faithfulness happens. Then we discuss steps that will help develop our children's sense of certainty, value of truth, and individual responsibility found in the Law and the Gospel.

Want to learn how to turn homeschool subjects into powerful opportunities to point your children to Jesus? In this session, you'll learn practical and easy ways to point your children to God through history, science, literature, and more. You can do this without adding more to your plate. Walk away encouraged and equipped to make every lesson a discipleship moment that shapes both mind and heart.

Today, more than ever, we need strong, reliable men, husbands, fathers. At the heart of Biblical leadership in the home is a hierarchy of a love for God that then dictates how we will love others. The higher the level of responsibility and the weight that accompanies decision making in the home, the greater the temptation is for men to either become like a child to their wife or become a bully in the home. In this talk, we will discuss practical, biblical acts of headship in the home, and how to make a real difference in the next generation.

Do you have a child who pushes your buttons, drains your energy, or makes you wonder if you're doing anything right as a parent? You;re not alone - and you're not failing. In this compassionate and practical session, Kathie shares biblical wisdom and hard-won experience from raising eight children, including strong-willed ones. You'll learn how to deal lovingly, patiently, and wisely with a child who challenges you. Most of all, you'll walk away with renewed hope that God is at work in both your child's heart - and yours. You can lead with grace, even on the hardest days. Let this session remind you: the child who challenges you the most just may be the one God uses to grow your faith the deepest.

Although many homeschool in order to teach their children from a biblical perspective, surprisingly, many homeschoolers are not engaging the Bible with the same rigor and attention as they do other subjects. This presentation demonstrates that all these issues can be overcome when we develop an intentional, biblical worldview of Bible curriculum, in its scope, relevance, and rigor.

When you get married, many of us experience the happily ever after for a time, this is the dream. But as the complexities of life and family begin to blend, challenges arise, and often leave you wondering where the dream went. Let us help you navigate these complexities, find wisdom in God's blueprint for your marriage, and help steer you towards a life of oneness that is everlasting with a firm foundation in Christ.

Are you curious about how to give your children a rich, Christ-centered education at home - one that fosters both academic excellence and spiritual growth? In this workshop, we'll explore how the classical model of education, paired with the supportive framework of a Christian community, equips parents to confidently lead their children's learning. You'll learn how Classical Conversations provides structure, accountability, and fellowship - helping families pursue a rigorous, classical education centered on truth, goodness, and beauty. We'll discuss the stages of the Trivium (grammar, dialectic, and rhetoric), how they align with your child's natural development, and how this time-tested method can be lived out at home. More than just academics, this workshop will show how classical education can become a way of life - one that integrates discipleship, deep thinking, and joyful learning. Whether you're new to homeschooling or looking to deepen your approach, come discover how a classical, Christian community can encourage you in the high calling of home education.

MPE - Women's Encouragement Day 2026

Presented by: Midwest Parent Educators

Examine the way you look at your role as a woman, a mom, and a teacher – and what you may unknowingly pass to your children as truths...because of your mindset.

Disciple means to “teach or train.” But when your child behaves the opposite of what you want or expect, your first thought is often to get that action or activity stopped as quickly as possible. It’s easy to fall into the trap of simply stopping unwanted actions and moving to whatever activity needs to be tackled next. You must be intentional to look behind the behavior for the reason your child is acting a particular way.

Society is becoming increasingly secularized, and Christians are being pressured to bow the knee to the modern woke agenda. The church is supposed to challenge the culture with the truth of God’s Word and the gospel but many times the opposite is happening and the culture instead invades the church. We can combat this invasion, but we must argue or reason with people starting with God’s Word. We must not give up our firm foundation!

We live in a society that is very confused about their identity. They think that an individual can define and determine everything about themselves including their gender. What does the Bible say about sex and gender? Are they separate? Are there only two? What about people who have gender/sex abnormalities? Is there any biological or genetic basis for transgender or homosexuality? Let’s take a look at what God’s Word says and see how science confirms and supports the truths of God’s Word. God created us as His image bearers and as our Creator He is not confused about who He made us!

The world has a vision of education and its purpose. Christians must as well. In this talk, Alex Newman will explore what the Bible teaches on education and discipleship, and how this differs radically with what the present education system offers. He also provides an in-depth look at the history of Christian education — the very education that built Western civilization and the United States of America. Finally, he will equip parents to rethink education in light of Scripture, with practical tools to honor God in this critical realm of life.

We’ve all heard the adage, “Nothing is easy,” and it’s true. So why then do we use ‘ease’ as the determining factor in our life choices? As a culture, we want dinner-making to be easy. We want house projects to be easy. We want relationships to be easy. We want our jobs to be easy. Look around, ‘easy’ seems to be a pretty high-value today. But what about the Christian life? What about marriage? What about parenting? Are any of those easy? Could it be that our longing for easy is what keeps us from becoming the people, spouses, and parents that God has intended for us to be? God is calling, He’s inviting us to be a part of His plan to change the world. It won’t be easy, but it will be for His glory and our good. Let’s get to work together.

Every day we are bombarded with messages that try to convince us that we are individually important. The basic theme is that we should seek self. It’s all a big lie, from the king of lies. We must shift our focus away from ourselves and on to our awesome and mighty God. The world is relentlessly pursuing peace and contentment that can only come from a life that is totally surrendered to Christ and His will. Come learn how this realization radically changed Rachael’s life, direction, and purpose. It can change yours too!

The Bible teaches more about government than it does about heaven. But for several generations, pastors and churches have remained largely silent on the issue, partly due to concerns about their tax exemption. This is inexcusable. The Bible calls on leaders to teach the full counsel of God. America’s founders understood the biblical view of government, and that is why Americans have been blessed for centuries with security, peace, prosperity, and liberty. In this talk, Alex will go into great detail on what the Scriptures teach.

Do you love to plan? Do you like organizers, rows, columns and checklists? Do you love to label and color code everything into neat little boxes? Planning is essential to what we do; it helps our days and years run smoothly; but could it be that some of us become bound and chained to our ideas and plans? Is it possible that we are planning God right out of our homeschool? Come and hear how we can put God back in the driver seat of our home and school and how to use planning to help us rather than control us.

So here we are. Most of us would have chosen something different than what we’ve recently had to face. I mean really, who would have signed up for the crazy chaos that has characterized the last few years? Not me. But, if I believe in a sovereign God, and if I believe that He has a plan, and if I believe that He has a role for me to play, and I do, then how do I lean into that and His plan? And what is my role in this cultural moment? Let’s take a look at some other similarly chaotic cultural moments in Scripture and see what we can learn from those who’ve gone before us. This is our moment. Let’s dare to live it for Him.

Start the conference with this inspirational message

There has been a fundamental shift in our culture’s view of the role of parents versus government in the past two hundred and fifty years. Contrasting the statements of America’s Founding Fathers with ivy league professors and journalists today, you can better understand the battle over who should control the education and upbringing of children.

Are you feeling overwhelmed or are you just trying to make it to the end of each day? Let's refresh your purpose so you can exchange discouragement for fresh vision for your homeschool. Declutter things that are weighing down your days and gain tips for being fully present, prioritizing rest, and delighting in the time spent with your children when the days are long and the years are short! "Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Psalm 90:12

Lab journals play a powerful role in both the academic and spiritual growth of students. They foster curiosity, reflection, and intentionality in young learners. They record experiments, cultivate gratitude, stewardship, and a deeper understanding of God's design. By engaging with their observations and reflections, students can recognize the Creator's purposeful order in nature, seeing that all scientific discovery points to His glory.

Karen Ehman-a woman whose words have often landed her in a heap of trouble—-shares from experience the how’s (and how-not-to’s) of dealing with the tongue from her new book -Keep It Shut. Using biblical examples, as well as Karen’s own personal (and sometimes painful!) stories, Keep It Shut will equip you to know what to say, how best to say it, and when you’d better just keep your lips zipped!

Are you looking for ways to bring music into your family and your homeschool? Boys have more energy than you can keep up with? Providing an intentional atmosphere of learning for your son will result in successful lessons and joyful days. Hear stories and helpful tips from a veteran homeschooling mom of three boys. “Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.” Proverbs 1:8-9

Learn how to adapt these strategies to fit your children/teens’ ages, stages, and specific challenges. You'll also learn how to actually reduce conflicts through nurturing deeper relationships within your family. Walk away with a clear, actionable, heart-based family peace plan that everyone in your family can use.

Leadership is being like Jesus — in intention, in method, and in goal. Here dads discover what it means to lead their families the way Jesus leads us: with purpose, humility, and love. Through clear, biblical teaching and real-life application, this workshop equips fathers to: - Reflect Christ’s character in their everyday leadership - Shepherd their families spiritually - Build a home where God is known, honored, and followed

Don't react in ways you regret! Parental anger is a signal. Hear what the Bible really says about anger; listen for it in yourself, recognize its triggers, and redirect it toward meaningful growth. Respond with wisdom instead of reacting in frustration, create a more peaceful home environment for both you and your children. Walk away with biblical insights and practical strategies to help you break free from guilt, foster connection, and become the homeschool parent you aspire to be.

Our culture is obsessed with self. But in the midst of this near-narcissism, people are less content than in decades past. They have forgotten the joy that comes from putting others first. This is both biblical teaching and doable suggested actions. Some are heart-tugging and sentimental. Others are sneaky and hilarious. All are simple and practical. As we scatter kindness, we create a safe space where we can openly share the gospel with others.

For many men, homeschooling has been looked at largely as something their wife does. Many believe that if they pay the bills, that is really all that God expects of them. Biblically speaking, what is the proper role for men in the process of home education?

Should parents send their children to public schools to be missionaries and evangelists? Homeschoolers are often accused of retreating from society instead of impacting it. What is the balance between protecting our children and reaching out to a lost world around us? Israel explains how you can equip your children for the ‘real world’ without putting them in harm’s way.

Big emotions can easily derail a homeschool day, leaving both you and your child feeling frustrated and exhausted. But what if those emotional moments could become opportunities for growth, connection, and discipleship? In this session, you'll learn how to use a heart-based approach to helping your child/teen process anger, anxiety, sadness, and more—while still making academic progress. Walk away with practical tools to manage emotional challenges, reset negative patterns, and equip your child with lifelong skills for emotional resilience.

This is pure encouragement from the Word of God. Every mom in the trenches needs spiritual encouragement to keep going. How do we stay encouraged? How do we as husbands and wives encourage each other when we face the heat of trial? As those who have been in the cauldron themselves, Kevin and Brenda Swanson can encourage you here.

I know you have felt the pain of regret when you have had a moment of failure when disciplining your children. I know many of you are fighting against habits you learned from your parents that you swore you would never do. I know you want to parent with love, honor and respect—but sometimes, you don’t.

Young people raised in Christian homes and churches are choosing to walk away from the faith in dismal numbers. Why? You will learn what research shows are the causes and what you can do to minimize this becoming your family's story. While there are no perfect-kid formulas, there are profound ways you can influence your children's decisions in adulthood. Not just for parents of teens, this positive message will benefit moms and dads with children of all ages.

As homeschool parents, we minister to children in many ways, both inside and outside the Christian family and our churches. Homeschool parents have exciting positions that allow them to evangelize and disciple their children at home. What a privilege we have to be entrusted with such a task! The Bible says to think on things which are noble, good, and true, to let the weak say they are strong, that as a man thinketh so is he, and so on… Neurological science is proving the Bible right again by revealing how God designed the brain to be renewed, literally re-wired, and re-trained. When we intentionally, purposefully, consistently wash our thoughts with His Word and program our computer with His promises, the brain is remade… old neurological connections are overridden with new ones, and we replace the old man with what Paul called the new man. Learn how to replace bad habits, restore a joyful attitude, and instill in your children one of the most important life skills… renewing the mind!

The very laws of science are designed so we will know we have a creator. So how can so many people be blind to the obvious?

It’s so important to teach our kids God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Learn ways to prioritize these things in your family culture, your weekly homeschool schedule, and the daily challenges of parenting. You’ll come away with a refreshed vision for these precious years with your children and practical tools to help you focus on the Lord together!

Cultivating Bible Habits Handout

Homeschooling parents are well aware of the shocking statistics of how many of our kids walk away from the faith and values upon which they were raised. The world around them has embraced moral relativism. If the biblical values that built Western civilization are to be restored, the next generation must be equipped to be counter-culture revolutionaries for truth, justice, and the old American way.

This session will be a fun opportunity for children to demonstrate knowledge of their world and the Bible. There will also be a lesson from Scripture from the life of Christ and a reminder of the value and importance of growing in wisdom. It will end with an exhortation to obey God even as Christ did and to share the gospel with others.

No matter where we turn, we face an epidemic of visionless, clueless, fantasy-driven young people. Stuck in an education system that fosters this disconnect from reality, few Millennials, even Christians, can successfully bridge the gap into real life. From a millennial’s perspective, Daniel calls students and parents to adopt a new paradigm for his generation in light of God’s Word. Don’t attend this session unless you are ready to be challenged with a new vision for life and an awakened understanding of the responsibilities God calls every young person to fulfill.

Ginger will share wisdom from her best-selling book, Don’t Make Me Count to Three! There is far more to parenting than getting children to “act” right. We have to get them to “think” right and to be motivated out of a love of virtue rather than a fear of punishment. Ginger quips parents to reach past the outward behavior of their children and address the issues of the heart. Move beyond the frustrations of not knowing how to handle issues of disobedience and into a confident approach to raising your children.

Speaking towards the scripture, “Train up a child in the way he should go…,” Peggy digs into the Bible to show parents how to live up to this standard without losing their focus, or their minds. From the experience of being a parent and a foster-parent of multiple special needs children, Peggy Ployhar has first-hand knowledge of the rigorous demands put on parents who are raising, training, and homeschooling children with special needs. Woven with personal stories, biblical truth, and lots of encouragement, this talk will truly speak to the hearts of parents who want to raise their special needs children as God has called them to do.

Kerry Beck Most homeschoolers continue to offer their children the same type of education they received; they just do it at home. There’s a better way! Kerry reveals how she homeschooled her three kids to give them a love of learning, as well as the tools of learning. Her goal was to train her kids to become leaders of tomorrow. Godly leaders who can think critically and biblically! Godly leaders who will change the world!
