"Am I doing this right?" It’s the question every homeschooler asks. Those well-meaning platitudes like "you can’t mess this up" might sound comforting, but deep down, we know the truth: both parenting and homeschooling are significant responsibilities—and yes, we can get it wrong. The self-doubt, the fear of failing our kids, and the constant pressure to "build the boat while sailing it" can feel paralyzing. But what if there was a way to silence the doubt? This workshop unveils a simple, proven framework to ensure your homeschool is not just on track but thriving. No matter your style or your child’s learning preferences, you’ll gain a clear strategy to confidently meet their present and future needs. Walk away empowered, knowing you are uniquely equipped to give your children the education—and the future—they deserve.

Conflict with our children can cause a great gulf between us. Discipline in the home is a must, but it need not create tension between us and our children. The Smiths will share how Biblical discipline is often misapplied, but more importantly, how we can pattern our family discipline after that of our Heavenly Father. Stories of parents doing it well will empower you to make needed adjustments in your approach to discipline.

2026 Homeschool Idaho Convention: Cultivate Connection
Presented by: Homeschool IdahoJun. 5, 2026
There is no plug-and-play formula for a good education. Mystie Winckler explains why systems and shortcuts fail, how to keep the home at the center of your homeschool, and how to practice this art with confidence and enjoyment.
The holy grail of parenting is “what to do to have good godly kids.” Unfortunately God didn’t leave a complete guideline for our use. He did leave us some examples of the good, bad, and ugly of parenting, and plenty of principles...but we’re still left...wanting more. Enter the flim-flam man who fills in all the gaps and begins to pile on rules, principles, and things to avoid. The problem is that it sometimes has adverse effects and leaves behind hurt and wayward children. So...some parents swing the other way and claim and proclaim the message of Freedom to equally dire results. While I would never be so bold as to say, “Here’s how to parent and what to do to have successful children.” I will say there seems to a sweet-spot in parenting that avoids the extremes but not the responsibility. Join me as we get down and dirty in the trenches of parenting and discuss a method of parenting that is IRRESISTIBLE.
Dads and moms, in all the busyness of life and swell of expert advice, we've forgotten the fundamental truths of homeschooling and family. In short, we’ve forgotten why we do what we do. We have plenty of “how tos” but have forgotten the “why tos” and it evidences itself in our lack of joy of homeschooling, family, and parenting. Join funny guy and familyman, Todd Wilson, as he sets the stage for a great homeschool convention and the best year ever as he brings us back to the basics of what we believe about family and homeschooling. You're not going to want to miss this for the world.
We are raising kids in a generation where more hours a day are spent in front of a screen than are spent outside. From video games to social media, this generation is existing more virtually than they are in the real world around them, and we are seeing the damaging results in our children, families, and culture. Join Aby Rinella as she discusses the dangers of social media on our kids, how we can step out of the virtual and back into real life; how we can cultivate real connection, thrive in the tangible world around us, and how we benefit physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually from being outdoors together. You will also learn practical tips to take your school outdoors and how to grow as a family on the adventure!
More devotional and vulnerable in tone, Mystie discusses misconceptions about rest and approaches this needed topic in a relatable but deeply Scriptural way. This talk is a meditation on what it means that our rest is in Christ, not in our own self-care.
Jun. 6, 2026
It's a fact! The only thing tougher than being a homeschooling mom is...being married to a homeschooling mom! Dad, your wife needs your help. Come join me as we discuss how to support and assist our wives in the homeschooling journey. We'll also do a lot of laughing, as I encourage men to be encouragers of their homeschooling wives.

Is your marriage facing challenges or obstacles? Do the problems seem overwhelming or too big to handle at times? This workshop will clearly define God's intention for marriage but also outline three very simple, practical habits that you can use right away. These habits can strengthen your connection, build resilience, and help "divorce-proof" your relationship. Ebon's goal is to equip and inspire you to build something lasting and deeply rooted in God's plan for marriage.
Do you remember your first date with your spouse? Take a moment and think about how you felt while holding hands and gazing into their eyes. God intended for marriages to maintain that cherishing nature throughout the entire journey. In this workshop we will discuss the distractions and barriers that arise and how we can successfully tend the garden of our relationship to always treasure their presence.

Nebraska 2026 Homeschool Conference and Curriculum fair
Presented by: Nebraska Christian Home Educators AssociationMar. 13, 2026
Most Nebraska homeschool parents did not begin homeschooling to make a statement. They began because they refused to surrender their children's formation. This session frames that instinct biblically; parents are not secondary partners in educations, they are the primary disciplers. Education is one of the chief arenas where worldview is shaped, loves are trained, and loyalties are formed. Faithfulness, not perfection, is the goal, and the parents' presence matters more than any curriculum choice.
Mar. 14, 2026
For many men, homeschooling has been looked at largely as something their wife does. Many believe that if they pay the bills, that is really all that God expects of them. Biblically speaking, what is the proper role for men in the process of home education?
Mar. 14, 2026
Managing sibling squabbles and rivalry can feel like a part-time job, and stressful at that. In the homeschool environment, where siblings are not just sharing dinner together, but most of their waking hours, the struggle can be long. All that time together can bring out the worst in these sibling interactions … or it can be a catalyst for healthy growing relationships. Come to this down to earth, solutions oriented session to explore options that will be right for your family.
Nebraska homeschool families are already practicing something closer to classical education than they may realize. By prioritizing reading, memorization, reasoning, and discussion, they are resisting the modern obsession with efficiency, testing, and credentialism. This session will connect the daily work done around kitchen tables to the older Christian conviction that education is about forming wise, virtuous, truth-loving people, not producing compliant workers. What often feels ordinary is, in fact, countercultural and deeply formative.

No one wants to admit it, but most every parent has that moment (or moments) where they're having a difficult time liking their child. It usually has something to do with the destruction of your personal property, or a recurring character flaw (like dishonesty), or the fact that you both have personality traits that are uncomfortably similar. Whatever the cause, left unchecked these feelings can grow into something much stronger than mere "dislike". In this talk we'll explore the root cause of these feelings and offer some practical advice to help you avoid the situations that bring them about.

Have you ever had a particularly rough homeschool day and asked yourself, "Why is this so hard?" The answer? There's more riding on the success of your homeschool than you think. Sadly, it seems that all of the "ordinary" tasks we're burdened with often obscure this fact. But here's the thing - what you're doing is anything but ordinary. Despite the various fronts of opposition and their best attempts to portray your homeschool as worthless, or worse, radical, the truth is this dying world desperately needs what you're doing; and it's one of the many reasons that for the homeschooling parent, there can be no ordinary days.

As homeschool parents, we minister to children in many ways, both inside and outside the Christian family and our churches. Homeschool parents have exciting positions that allow them to evangelize and disciple their children at home. What a privilege we have to be entrusted with such a task! How can we take it further to the community and the world? How can we model the Great Commission and involve our children as we do it? Can you be a homeschool parent and a child evangelist in your area? Not only is it possible, but your homeschoolers can be a part of this Inside-Outside ministry of evangelism. Let Child Evangelism Fellowship show you their time-tested (since 1937) effective methods.

“What’s your secret for staying together?” That’s the number one question younger couples want to ask veterans of long-term marriage, according to a recent study. There are bonds which are tighter than the strongest glue, and they’re not dramatic – just very, very powerful, and what’s more, Biblical. Join Hal and Melanie as they share what they’ve learned in 38 years of marriage and years of talking to other couples about the things that stick us together - and help us enjoy it!
Are you dealing with broken relationships, heartbreak, depression, or even bone-wearying exhaustion in your family? In this session, you’ll be inspired by stories of real revivals through history and how children, men, and women were forever changed and marked not by striving, but by God’s presence. You don’t need a five-step plan—you need the one who can bring beauty from the ashes, joy in the morning, and rain on a dry and thirsty land. May you walk away full of anticipation for the great plans that God has for you. He’s not finished with you yet.
