There is a mighty clash of worldviews going on all around us, and there is no way to escape. Educating our children at home will only postpone the inevitable. Will our children engage their culture as lambs going to slaughter, or as sheep among wolves, being "wise as serpents and innocent as doves" (Matthew 10:16)?

Jack Dublin, teller of tall tales, reads from his journal and discusses the importance of wisely choosing the stories we read. Have you ever wondered why the culture has morphed into what it is today from what it was when you were a child? The answer may surprise you: the gatekeepers of our heritage—storytellers—weaved contrarian tales for the cinema, television and print to achieve a desired end. We are living out that desired end, but we have reason for great hope in this ascending generation.

The courts and secularists have weaponized the Constitution to limit public religious expression rather than protect it. They have convinced many Americans that the Constitution is godless. Seven specific parts of the Constitution establish its generally religious and explicitly Christian nature. Learn about these important clauses deliberately ignored by today's secular-minded scholars and judges. It's time for us to know and help restore the original intent of the Constitution.

First Corinthians 1:12 is one of many scriptures reminding us we are not defined or directed by the cultures of the world. We have been bought with a price (Revelation 5:9). Betsy will talk about cultural influences and share some ideas on how the culture or cultures that own us influence our family life—especially our marriages, and what and how we teach and train our children.

Schools are crying out for ways to improve American students' academic performance. Fads and gimmicks come and go, and eventually voices all cry out that we need to return to the 3 R's (Reading, 'Riting, and 'Rithmetic), but unless we understand the 3 R's taught in the scripture (Ruin, Righteousness, and Redemtion) we will never have a proper Christian worldview to use reading, writing, and arithmetic for the glory of God.

Kindness is a powerful force that emanates from God himself that will transform your life and the lives of those around you if you will use it properly and consistently. Proverbs 31 referred to the “law of kindness.” A law sets parameters. The “law of kindness” says that you and I should not leave the parameters of kindness in the words we say or the way we say them. God, who is always kind, uses his kindness to win our hearts, and few things are as effective to reach the hearts of children as parents consistently being kind. Some of the most powerful stories in the Bible and in human life are stories where people used the power of kindness to repay kindnesses shown to them.

Don’t be surprised when folks question your right or ability to homeschool. They did the same to Christ. “And say unto him, 'By what authority doest thou these things? And who gave thee this authority to do these things?'” (Mark 11:28) Our authority is not of the government or in an accreditation agency; our authority is from Christ. Are you competent to homeschool? If you are in Christ, you are!

What goes on behind the scenes in public schools? This presentation serves as just one reminder why homeschool parents do not give their children away.

70% of all Christian seniors ditch God when they go to college. Come and discover a compelling reason why! This workshop equips you to teach your kids how to die to themselves and live passionately for the glory of God.

Honor is a lost concept in the western world. Yet it is a biblical mandate. How important is honor? What does it mean to honor God? What does it mean to honor your father and mother? And how do those concepts play out in daily life? Even if mom covers all of the academics of homeschooling, dad’s role is crucial. What is that role and how does honor play a part in it? Come and take a peek into the life of the Razvi family and hear what a blessing honor has been for this family of 15.

Drawing on his time of living in South Africa and working with their national park system, Mike uses specific examples to illustrate design in nature. Mike will use puppets and other visual illustrations to show us that life only displays design and order, not lucky accident and chance. He will cover three aspects of the natural world that the evolutionist cannot explain - including amazing design, incredible instinct, and the general relative sizes of creatures compared to each other. This is a fun (and humorous and practical) session designed for all ages.

Strange carvings. Impossible accomplishments. Baffling ancient maps. Strange machines. Mysteries from the past. How could ancient man do that? With fascinating illustrations, this session contrasts the evolution model of mankind's "progress" with the creation model through a look at what many ancient cultures were able to accomplish. These accomplishments baffle us even today! How did ancient man do these things? Not only does this session contrast some of these civilizations to our own, but it also has a personal application.

Come get some help in identifying and encouraging spiritual heroes for your children. Help your children focus on character development through a daily understanding of God’s work in their lives to develop Christian character for eternal purposes.

Today more than ever we need Christian citizens who know the truth of God’s Word and have a working knowledge of our Founding Documents so that they can be the transforming power needed to bring our land back from the tyranny of socialism to the liberty secured under the American View of Law and Government.

There is a very real war for the hearts and minds of the next generation. If we do not engage the fight we are guaranteed to lose. Be equipped to stand successfully in the battle for truth. Parents may fear that when their children graduate they may turn against their homeschool upbringing. Is there a way to prevent that from happening? Explore the powerful tools God provides as well as learn from the experience of other homeschooling parents.

How do you teach your students to apply a “Christian Worldview” to the books they read, the movies they watch, and the culture they live in? The answer may surprise you, for well meaning Christians often misunderstand the basic principles of worldview analysis. This misunderstanding often prevents Christian students from thinking clearly about contemporary culture. In this enthusiastic and engaging discussion of a literary classic, learn to avoid a serious (though common) teaching mistake and get three steps for understanding a story-teller on his own terms. Discover how to uncover, identify and evaluate an artist’s worldview – and to teach your students to do the same.

Education is not an object we can posses; it’s a state of the heart, mind, and soul. All great leaders share certain attributes in these areas, and Job was one of the greatest! Adam’s unique perspective on Job’s career inspires parents to prepare their students for leadership. Get a renewed vision for the liberal arts and practical suggestions to applying this vision at home.

How do we get a witnessing conversation started? What if someone asks a question we can’t answer? What if we feel scared? How can we articulate the truth of the gospel with boldness, confidence, clarity and accuracy? In this session, Sarah and Grace Mally, together with their father Harold, share practical tips, ideas, and stories about how to effectively communicate the gospel to those around us. We only have one life to live, and it goes by quickly! Today’s Christian home school youth are in a position like Esther. God has raised them up “for such a time as this.” We need to work together and encourage each other. The question is, “Will our generation speak?”

How do you prepare your child for leadership in the civic realm? What does it mean to be a Christian statesman? Come and hear this introduction and overview of the American system of government, including our founding documents and a synopsis of how our government works on both a state and federal level, from this homeschool graduate who ran for office.

Although the scriptures do not specify exactly how a government must be formed, the principles of civil government are woven throughout the scriptures. Human government was instituted by God to protect man’s unalienable rights from mankind’s sinful tendencies [Romans 13] and a proper look at the other God ordained institutions reveals the need for government to be limited in scope. This session forms the basis for understanding the biblical worldview of government in order to make the connection to the biblical foundations for our US Constitution and American government. The session will also include a synopsis of the historical background of the Constitution and the influence of the biblical worldview upon the framers.

We live in a culture growing increasingly hostile to Christianity. But God can use our words to affect minds and hearts. Come learn about the power of apologetics and worldview in the life of your family and how to raise confident, courageous communicators for Christ.

Many people have the idea the battle between Christianity and humanism (or creation and evolution) is a battle over who has more “facts.” However, the real battle is actually over the interpretation of the same facts. Until Christians understand that everyone has the same facts, but different interpretations of those facts (based upon different presuppositions or biases), they will not be successful in learning how to defend the Christian faith and think in a true biblical manner. It’s very possible you will never think the same way about this world after attending this workshop!

How can we be confident that our children are going to be well-educated? This informative and entertaining session with Tom Clark, is based on, and adapted from, the respected work of John Milton Gregory, and will focus on effective strategies of instruction which are understandably simple, educationally sound, and ethically founded.

The impending need to teach science often creates fear for students and parents alike. This workshop will not only take the fear out of teaching science but will create excitement and enthusiasm for everyone. If you enjoy learning about cool creatures in the oceans, how sound works, and the fascinating world of fireworks, then you can definitely get excited to learn along with your students. Get ready to meet your inner science geek and help prepare your teens for their future.

Homeschooling parents are well aware of the shocking statistics of how many of our kids walk away from the faith and values upon which they were raised. The world around them has embraced moral relativism. If the Biblical values that built western civilization are to be restored, the next generation must be equipped to be counter-culture revolutionaries for truth, justice, and the old American way.

Have you ever wondered why you should study history?  While it is interesting to see how people lived in the past, what other uses does history have? Join historian Jordan Jachim in exploring the importance of history in this lecture.  Knowledge of the past can help us make decisions in the future, avoiding errors that previous generations have committed.  “Those who do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it.”  But history can also encourage us.  While one act of kindness to a stranger sometimes seems insignificant, did you know that this resulted in the discovery of a hidden cache of treasure during World War II?  History can also educate us and entertain us, but most importantly, it shows us how faithful God has been in guiding our lives.

At 150 years old, the state has covered a lot of ground, both geographically and historically. Nebraska is often seen as flat land without a lot of possibilities, and that is far from the truth. Do you know the treasures your area has to offer? Be taken on a visual tour of the state, get ideas for enjoyable field trips, and learn ways to make any locale more “kid friendly” (including photo scavenger hunts!). Places include indoor museums and outdoor sensations that could only have been created by God.

Mr. Karman is the founder of the OCEANetwork. He has lived through many changes. None of these have more effect on your rights to homeschooling than those we are seeing today. In the world every man's way is right in his own eyes. (Prov 21) The climate of Christian home education has changed. The warming that we see is the heat of hostility towards God’s plan. How long will the truth be permitted to be taught in your home or your homeschool? Is the truth worth fighting for?

In spite of what the culture is telling us, boys and girls are different. Have you ever had a war break out in the middle of History, or had a single math lesson take three hours? Then you’re probably raising boys! If the world seems intent on gender-bending and forcing our sons into a feminized mold, Hal and Melanie, parents of six boys, explain the Biblical way out – and a better way to turn wild little dirt-lovers into strong Christian men!

Our children live in the midst of a secular culture facing a host of issues and moral dilemmas that we never had to deal with at their age. Because many children are not prepared to counter their culture, startling percentages of those raised in evangelical homes abandon their faith and beliefs as they move into adulthood. For this reason, training our children to develop a strong biblical worldview is one of the most important things we can do for them. Teaching them to think biblically about all areas of life equips them to become powerful thinkers, leaders, and communicators. Most importantly, it also gives staying power to their faith as they face opposition. In this session, Zan Tyler provides practical answers to the following questions: •What is a biblical worldview and why is it crucial for my children? •How can I teach worldview—especially if I don’t understand it myself? •How can I teach worldview to my elementary-aged children? •How can studying the life of Daniel change my teenager’s life? Our goal as Christian homeschoolers must be bigger and broader than turning out kids with exceptional talent and high SAT scores. By incorporating worldview training, we can better equip them to use their gifts to impact the world for Christ, help others by solving real problems, and bring glory to God in the process.

People often view scientists as neutral, disinterested observers that draw conclusions from the data without bias. This, however, is a myth. Believing and unbelieving scientists, alike, view and interpret the universe through a set of faith assumptions regarding God and all things (their worldview). These assumptions are determined by one internal and simple reality: love or hostility toward God as the creator of all things. The nature of one’s heart drives speculation about life and the universe that cannot be derived by the scientific method, even as they are often considered “settled science.” Come hear how the nature of our heart (will) influences how we view, interpret, and draw conclusions regarding God and His world.

Romans 1:18-22 tells us that all people are without excuse for not honoring and giving God thanks. Why? Because His handiwork so clearly display His power, genius, and goodness that they “know” God, even as they go about denying His existence and authority. Every known fact and scientific discovery shouts the existence and glory of its Creator, while nothing in the universe supports the idea that all things are founded and operate according to random chance. Unbelievers ask for evidence as they deny the obvious. Imagine the aid to our faith and hope in our darkest trials when we never lack clear testimony of God’s goodness and power. Imagine the help to our witness and interaction with unbelievers when we understand how all things support the truth of our worldview and faith in Christ. Imagine the encouragement to our faith when we rightly view all things as supporting God’s ultimate purpose and plan in Christ, when every atom, bite of food, and star in the sky declare His infinite glory.

One thing is for sure, if you have homeschooled for more than a week, people everywhere will question you about it—from grandparents and neighbors to pastors and friends to grocery store clerks and legislators. You need to be able to articulate the apologetics of homeschooling and answer questions that come from those who know you, from curious by-standers, and from those who are hostile toward homeschooling. Do you know why your parents have chosen to homeschool you? Do you know the advantages of being given a custom-designed, tailor-made education? Do you know the spiritual, emotional, and social benefits of being homeschooled? We will have fun learning how to answer these questions, as well as others that people love to ask you when they can get you away from your parents: Do you really like homeschooling? What do you think you’re missing in life? What have you been studying lately? When it comes right down to it, you will probably be called upon more frequently than your parents to make the case for homeschooling. Come and learn how to do it well.

How do we acquire and nurture in our children a God-honoring worldview that strengthens joy, comfort, and faith in God and Scripture, even while exposing the unreasonable blind faith of unbelief? It’s much easier than you think if you start in the right place. God is the infinitely excellent creator and sustainer of all things, apart from whom we have nothing, including life, knowledge, truth, authority, and moral absolutes, on whom we depend for everything, to whom we owe all things. God, then, constitutes the proper starting place for a proper worldview. You will be surprised how many mysterious and confusing threads fall into place in the marvelous tapestry of God’s work and purpose when we begin with the source and explanation of all things. Indeed, apart from God as their source and sustainer, life and all things reduce to an impossible and pointless absurdity.

Paul Revere, aptly portrayed by Philip Jacobson, will speak to the audience not only of his famous midnight ride but his life as a silversmith, husband, father and patriot for the freedom he and so many other men and women lived and died for. While remembered most for that ride into Lexington, Paul was instrumental in much more of America’s history. Paul will share candidly, engaging the audience with the true story of how he and a group of shopkeepers and artisans who called themselves The Loyal Nine came to be known as the Sons of Liberty.

As homeschooling parents, we want to raise young people of faith, of character, of wisdom and knowledge, who are positioned to fulfill God's purposes in their lives and become young adults of great influence, both at home and in the marketplace of life. We believe an excellent education is an important part of that process. But, Parents, we must not let education become an idol at the expense of all that really matters. Let's talk about priorities and how to keep first things first.

“Book Smart” kids may do well in school, but who will prepare them for the realities of life? Becoming “Life Smart” is critical for real-world success. Steve & Annette Economides have been teaching life skills to children since 1995 in the areas of personal responsibility, organization, personal appearance, attitude, and work ethic. You can create an atmosphere of learning where everyday experiences are the vehicle to develop children into adults who excel in every area of life.

This will be a legislative update on issues affecting homeschooling families around the state. We will discuss ways for our Christian community to get organized and mobilized, to ensure that our voices are heard at the State Capitol and in all levels of government. Join us to learn what’s going on and how you can get involved.

Join the Welches and their homeschool graduates as they present how to practically impart the key elements of servant leadership in the context of home and family. Believing that our children should be agents of initiative and influence, they will address the challenges of transferring courage, creativity, intentionality, and responsibility. Come hear how they turned these big picture ideas in to real life, practical steps. A portion of the time will be allotted for you to hear from and ask questions of their children.

Common Core impact home education? This presentation will describe how the Common Core Standards were adopted by the states and provide six reasons to avoid Common Core. In this workshop, the attendees will learn to differentiate between exemplary Type #1 education and poor Type #2 Common Core education.

Topics: World View

Why aren’t your Christian neighbors homeschooling? What is the number one reason that parents do not homeschool? Their lack of con?dence to believe that they can actually do the job, or, put another way—fear of failure. Many homeschoolers in the midst of homeschooling are wondering how they will be able to determine whether they are successful or not with their children. Mike will explain in very clear and decisive terms how you can know whether or not you have been successful when you get to the end of your homeschool experience where it says “The End.” One way to answer the question is whether or not our work homeschooling with our children has been in vain. The Bible gives clear and decisive direction in this area which should be very encouraging to all of us, and hopefully give us encouragement in even the most dif?cult situations.

Exceptional means extraordinary, or more simply “extra – ordinary,” beyond ordinary – not normal. The political and economic structures of America produced results never before seen in history, from Her prosperity to Her power, balanced by Her benevolence. Yet She is slipping away from the principles that produced Her success. In this presentation, Rick Green defines both National and personal exceptionalism and charts a course for nations and individuals to use proven principles to achieve extraordinary results personally, in their family, and in our Nation.

Honoring the sacrifice of those who paid the price for our freedom is an essential part of preserving liberty for future generations. How do we best honor the sacrifice of those who gave their lives so that we could live in liberty? By LIVING the liberty they secured! In this presentation, Rick will challenge attendees to live their liberty with a renewed sense of purpose and passion, especially through the raising and preparing of the next generation.

Rick will take attendees through the entire Constitution in 50 minutes or less, leaving them with a clear understanding of where their essential freedoms are guaranteed throughout America’s Founding Document. We the People authorized only 17 specific powers for the Federal Government, yet today She engages in thousands of activities never approved by the American people or added to federal constitutional jurisdiction. Rick will quickly cover these specific powers and point out how simple the Constitutional jurisdictions are to understand for every citizen.

Ever had someone get mad at you and you had no idea why? After asking what you said, they replied, “It’s not what you said, it’s HOW you said it?”  Maybe we should learn how to better say things!  Ever had trouble getting someone to understand your perspective or your instructions? Did you know there are four very different “languages” used by most people? Being aware of these different communication styles and learning to speak all four will greatly enhance your relationships, your leadership, and your effectiveness.

Our children live in the midst of a secular culture facing a host of issues and moral dilemmas that we never had to deal with at their age. Because many children are not prepared to counter our culture, startling percentages of those raised in evangelical homes abandon their faith and beliefs as they move into adulthood. For this reason, training our children to develop a strong biblical worldview is one of the most important things we can do for them. Teaching them to think biblically about all areas of life equips them to become powerful thinkers, leaders, and communicators. Most importantly, it also gives staying power to their faith as they face opposition. In this session, Zan Tyler provides practical answers to the following questions: • What is a biblical worldview and why is it crucial for my children? • How can I teach worldview—especially if I don’t understand it myself? • How can I teach worldview to my elementary-aged children? • How can studying the life of Daniel change my teenager’s life? Our goal as Christian homeschoolers must be bigger and broader than turning out kids with exceptional talent and high SAT scores. By incorporating worldview training, we can better equip them to use their gifts to impact the world for Christ, help others by solving real problems, and bring glory to God in the process.

Life in a post-modern world can be tough for Christians – especially young Christians. When skepticism is the rage and Christ is "so not cool," it's not always easy to express one's faith, much less do so courageously and convincingly. With pressure-relieving simplicity, this session will equip young Christians to stand up, step out, and defend the Christian faith – all without losing their own.

The layers at the Grand Canyon show rapid formation during the global Flood and reveal that it was eroded catastrophically. Many similar formations around the world were also created during the Flood.

If you pay any attention to the latest trends in popular culture, it’s impossible to deny that something is desperately wrong with our world. And while it might be nice to imagine that homeschoolers are unaffected by these trends, we cannot plead immunity to the lust and pride which saturates our toxic culture. The satanic rebellion of our generation is having its effect on us. So how should we respond? Should we resign ourselves to the status quo? Should we hide away in polar huts with lead lining? Or, should we just pretend things are not as bad as they seem? Upholding the biblical alternative to these extremes, this session will challenge you to stop playing games, and start picking fights. It will challenge you to draw some lines and start pitching the battle. It will challenge you to ask, “What’s the difference between pop culture, Jesus and me?”

In spite of what the culture is telling us, boys and girls are different. Have you ever had a war breakout in the middle of history, or had a single math lesson take three hours? Then you're probably raising boys! If the world seems intent on gender-bending and forcing our sons into a feminized mold, Hal and Melanie, parents of six boys, explain the biblical way out - and a better way to turn wild little dirt-lovers into strong Christian men!
