– Mark Davis So many teens struggle with "What's Next?" after high school. It's encouraging to know God's will isn't lost. It’s been clearly revealed in His Word. This workshop walks through the New Testament, applying Biblical principles for the next steps in life.

Homeschooling High School Part 1: – Diana Plorins This workshop will consider opportunities that support your high school student’s interests and abilities. We will also look at options for outsourcing coursework. You will be equipped with the tools you need to develop a four-year plan that is practical and purposeful.

How do you show that your student is prepared for college-level coursework? How do you create a transcript that reflects your student’s aptitude and ability? We will demystify the steps, so you can confidently homeschool through high school.

Faith is blind, hope is wishful thinking, love is love, the Gospel is to love people. You may have heard these phrases or similar ones used outside (or even inside the church). However, an important overlooked question is, "What is the biblical understanding and definition of these terms?" In this session we will use interactive role plays to wrestle through a biblical understanding of each term and ideas of how to communicate the truth of these terms in an increasingly anti- Christian and biblically illiterate world.

Two years from now, we will do what we love! When we are consumed with the "Shema" by loving God and others, we do well. When we get tired and distracted and start loving self, more than others, we struggle. What is the key to "increasing in our love for God"?

Whether towering mountains, a giant canyon, a tropical reef, or your local park, there is a profound beauty in nature. There is also a brokenness in the created world. Whether disease, disaster, or man-made destruction, we know that the world should not be this way. Critics of Christianity miss the implications of the beauty in the world and use elements of the brokenness to reject God. However, our intuitions about both beauty and brokenness point to the reality of God. In this session we will discuss the evidence for God and the Gospel from the beauty and brokenness of the world.

Meeke explores the best way to grow Christian children who are able to resist the strong pull of the culture. Learn a new term: Culture-proof. Learn how to do it and what results you should expect. The loss of generations of Christian kids should be enough to force the question, "How do we help them resist?"

This session defines “science” and illustrates the scientific method of problem solving. In the light of true science, the three main concepts that the theory of evolution is based upon are examined and shown to be faith-based rather than science-based. The purpose of this session is not only to show that science does not support evolutionary theory, but also to give people some “tools” with which to combat the theory.

The fear of snakes is understandable. Right at the outset of history, the Bible records an astounding verbal exchange between the serpent and the second human God made. Immediately following the results of this exchange, everything fell apart! Mankind, the serpent, and even nature itself were all placed under a curse! How is it that these creatures can now survive, find food, find a mate…and even move! Even though there is a specific curse placed on this creature, they still display amazing design, and some features will astound you! This is the first creature mentioned by name in the Bible, and its existence has profound implications!

Could you explain where the water for a world-wide flood would have come from, and where it all went?! Many Christians can’t. Understanding the flood (the purpose, the causes, the aftermath and the evidence) is very important to an understanding of a biblically sound creation model. This session covers the basics about this event, and also includes a video & PowerPoint presentation on the “Hydroplate Theory”. This theory is a biblically accurate and scientifically feasible portrayal of the flood event.

The earth is wearing out, just like the Bible said it would. The earth is undergoing changes that can be seen everywhere -- Why do volcanoes erupt? Why are there earthquakes and tsunamis? Why do rocks fall from the sky? What are comets? Why are there unique weather patterns? And, is the earth warming? If so, why? Why are all continents shifting toward the Pacific? What produces El Niños? The answers are all related, and might surprise you!

Animals display incredible variety. This includes the amazing aspect of instinct, which each animal possesses uniquely. Some, however, go beyond this and enter the world of symbiosis, especially "mutualism" - when creatures need each other to survive! It is inconceivable to imagine that both instinct and symbiosis just randomly happened, unguided by a Designer! This session closes with a twist on what many people think is impossible with God's involvement with the issues found in Genesis 1-12.

The wizards are everywhere in our culture today. They promise that if we follow their yellow brick road, we can have it all—a brain, a heart, and courage. However—"There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." (Proverbs 14:12) The wiseman knows the right path to follow and to whom he should listen. Christians are to learn how to walk as wise men, "making the most of our time, because the days are evil" (Ephesians 5:16). From this you will learn how to distinguish between the ways of the wizards and the way of the wiseman. You will learn how to destroy secular arguments "raised up against the knowledge of God" and learn how to "take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ" (II Corinthians 10:5).

This is the second in a series by Bill Jack The wizards are everywhere in our culture today. They promise that if we follow their yellow brick road, we can have it all—a brain, a heart, and courage. The wizards even promise us a way home. These wizards include evolutionists, new agers, atheists, and sincere followers of false religions. The wiseman, on the other hand, knows the right path to follow and to whom he should listen. Christians are to learn how to walk as wise men, "making the most of our time, because the days are evil" (Ephesians 5:16). Come join us as we take a walk on the "wise" side. You will learn how to distinguish between the ways of the wizards and the way of the wiseman. You will learn how to destroy secular arguments "raised up against the knowledge of God" and learn how to "take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ" (II Corinthians 10:5).

During this session, students will have the opportunity to study living sea stars and dissect a preserved sea star! Previous knowledge is not necessary. At least one parent must be present for the activity. Children as young as 5-years-old can be successful in this activity with direct parent support. All students must take directions and safety seriously, or they will be asked to sit out. Together we will answer questions which could include: How does a sea star feed? Where do sea stars live? Why did God make sea stars? What are the parts of a sea star? What types of sea stars live in the Pacific Northwest? Are sea stars and starfish the same thing?

In this workshop we will dive into the details regarding ACT and learn general test taking strategies. Next, we will look at each of the four individual tests which comprise ACT (English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science Reasoning) and discuss strategies and resources specific to each test. Lastly, since the math portion seems to strike fear in all high school juniors, we will spend time working through example problems together. We will come to understand how mathematical thinking, as opposed to rote memorization, is the key to success on this portion of the exam.

In this session Sarah shares key lessons the Lord has taught her about trusting the Lord in the area of singleness. The Lord gave her amazing opportunities in her single years, before getting married at age 41. Yet, it wasn’t always an easy road. Sarah will share honestly about the joys and the challenges of singleness, encouraging single women of all ages to trust God’s timing and pour themselves out for the Lord. She will share ways the Lord encouraged her when she needed it, and insights from Scripture that helped her through the journey.

The high school years offer a prime opportunity for parents to together with their teens to review and to evaluate their teens preparation for adulthood. They can determine a plan of action how to equip and solidify their teen’s beliefs, skills, and relational abilities necessary for future success and passionately following Christ. Being a leader is more than being the loudest person in the room or having the smartest ideas. It's more than being the most admired or the most famous. Paul shares a mixture of humorous personal experiences, impactful testimonies, and Scripture that shed light on the meaning of leadership.

Everyone is a leader. What kind are you? Paul shares seven practical steps to developing leadership. Teens will be entertained and inspired hearing Paul share lessons from his own leadership journey and will walk away with real-life applications drawn from Scripture.

The heart of leadership is influence and everyone influences someone. That means everyone needs some basic leadership skills, no matter who you are or what you do. You can spend a lifetime reading and studying leadership, and that’s not a bad pursuit, but this session will give you the basic leadership skills you need to understand so you can apply them immediately.

Technology has fundamentally changed education and almost every educational institution on the planet hasn’t caught up yet. There is a foundational shift from an answers-based paradigm that has dominated education since universities were invented to a questions-based paradigm. Simply stated, if you are still teaching in an answers-based paradigm you are missing a key opportunity to prepare your student for the world that they will live and work in. This session is all about teaching you what a questions-based paradigm is, why it’s important, and how to teach it.

Despite a popular belief to the contrary, the world and culture does not work on facts; it runs on story. Stories are what drive cultural and social change, inspire action, give meaning, and educate the next generation. Western Civilization in particular is driven by the stories in the Bible. Understanding story, and especially the Biblical story, is essential to understand the world you live in, and your part in the grand story that is our reality. The session will help you understand story, Biblical story, and how that understanding will have an immediate practical impact on your life.

Adolescents today are starving: they’re aesthetically and culturally undernourished. Among the many culprits: Our poor use of literature throughout secondary education. Great works on high school reading lists are treated as mere boxes to checked off, and do students really learn to love Dickens in AP lit? — Our STEM students, moreover, will have few electives in college; the high school years may represent their real taste of literature. This homeschooling dad shows how we can use literature to nourish our teens, expand their emotional intelligence, and sharpen their insight into human relationships.

In a bygone time, plans were paramount, caution was king, and deciding was marked by deliberation. In that old world knowledge trumped experience. We don’t live in that world anymore. In our world iteration is better than planning, action holds the throne, and deciding is marked by doing. In our world knowledge is still necessary, but knowledge without experience holds little value. This session will teach you how to adapt to this new world and use project-based education to train students to take action for the real world.

What is wrong with homosexuality? Our nation is rapidly moving from a position of accepting homosexuality as a legitimate lifestyle to demanding its acceptance even among those who have biblical convictions against it. The wise Christian will have a biblical answer ready for those who question why they uphold “traditional” (biblical) marriage values. Is homosexuality wrong? Why is it wrong? Why does it matter, really? Understanding Romans 1 is key to knowing what the Bible teaches on this contentious subject.

At fourteen years old I faced an episode of doubt in my life that lasted for fourteen years. Because of it I could not claim God’s Word as infallible nor witness boldly to anyone seeking answers about Jesus Christ. God preserved my faith through it all, but much was lost to those years lived in flimsy faith. It doesn’t have to be so for your child. As parents we have an obligation to equip, pre-pare, and launch our children into the world fully capable of standing against the spiritual attacks and waves of doubt that they will often face. Discover how to discern if doubt is something your child is dealing with and learn a few basic principles on how to help them overcome and live a faith-filled life, even as a youth

Come explore the science behind these careers. Two college instructors will guide you through a demonstration, discussion, and hands on exploration of the science involved in these hot career choices. You will explore pipe joining methods, heat movement, water to steam expansion, thermal imaging, and Lenz’s Law of Electromagnetic induction. Other topics will include: how to enter these career choices, what education is recommended/required by employers in these fields, and what licenses are required.

Repulsive beasts, right? Perhaps, but spiders have incredible abilities. They are marvels of design and very beneficial to mankind. Let’s take a fun and fascinating look at these creatures in a new light. Will you hesitate to squish the ones you see in your house after this? No, probably not! But outside? That’s another matter!

Financial foundations, begun with individual habits and practices early in life, emerge later in the life of the family. Savings, investment, and proper planning for your life begun at a very young age can serve as a blessing to a young married couple. This message is an introduction to the facts that never fail, the Word that never returns void, and the Truth that truly does make the Christian free. Because in such a showdown, the Cross of Christ always proves victorious. Handout: https://masshope.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Ludy_Eric_1.pdf

You thought genealogies were boring? Well, not after this message, you won’t! Throughout world history, the Hebrews have stood unmatched in their maintenance of genealogies, lineage, and descent. God promised them that from their bloodline would come One who would rescue the world from sin. This “Deliverer” would be of the seed of the woman, born of a virgin, born in Bethlehem, and would be from everlasting. Well, this “Deliverer” has come. And just as promised, He was born of a virgin girl in Bethlehem, and He was no mere man. He was God born in the body of a man. Buckle your seat belt for this one! Maybe the canon should have been closed after the first five books were written. What about after the Old Testament was finished? The New Testament? Should the Apocrypha be added? Is the Bible really the Word of God, or could it be that there are other sacred writings that we should follow? This talk will reinforce why we don’t have a blind faith. The Scripture is the reliable, trustworthy, completed Word of God.

How do we earn salvation? How do we keep it once earned? What must I do for God to be proud of me and approve of my works? What do I do about the shame and guilt I feel, even as a believer? This talk includes a hermeneutical study of Romans 8:31-39 and encourages followers of Christ in the total propitiation process.

Taken directly from Psalm 32, this presentation reminds us of the unique relationship we have with Christ and how to follow Him on a daily basis to gain security and confidence in whatever we may face. We don’t have to, but we get to cultivate our relationship with Christ. Christianity is not a religion, it’s a relationship.

Scripture is under attack, and countless individuals, even within the Church, doubt the authenticity and supernatural construction of God’s Word. This message examines ten simple proofs of the construction, preservation, and accuracy of the Word of God. It will supercharge your faith, give you greater confidence in the Word of God, and cause you to fall in love with Scripture all over again. The constant declaration of the Christian life should be “I can’t, but God can!” Our lives were made to be inhabited by the living God, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, to be used as a “glove” upon His hand. This enabling power of His life, called grace, supplies all we need for life and godliness. Grace is far more than a mere hug of God. In this life-changing message, Eric Ludy equips you with the spiritual tools to stop trying to manufacture the Christian life and instead let God do it in and through you. Sometimes it seems like Christians are almost the only ones who believe in truth as a “thing.” But despite elaborate explanations, the flood of fake news, and trendy French philosophy, Andy explains why the postmodern emperor “has no clothes,” and why Christians can humbly declare truth with confidence and grace.
