As one of the nation’s leading constitutional lawyers, and an activist for homeschooling, parental rights, religious freedom, and the right to life, Mike Farris has gained a lifetime of knowledge and insights. It may be a so-called “education savings account” (which is not a savings account at all!) where government money is put into an account a homeschool family can use. Or it may be a refundable tax credit designed to give many families a “refund” that is greater than the tax they owe. Regardless of the feel-good names attached to these programs, the bitter fact remains that government funding inevitably leads to government strings and the loss of independence.
