Based on the assumption that someone will train your children, we believe that it is the calling of the parents to do so. Our workshop will describe how we carried this out. Jenny will share our family history and who we are as people. She will tell how she carried our vision to train up warriors for the kingdom of God. We hope that our story will inspire you to have a vision to raise up champions in your family.

This workshop is for those of you who are working to juggle homeschooling life with toddler life. We will look at the importance of prioritizing, planning our work, and working our plan to ensure balance between working with our older children and meeting the needs of even the littlest. Table Talk discussions will center around creative ways to engage our little ones in the power of play while still being accessible to the rest of our children. You will leave with a list of resources and recipes, but more than that, my prayer is that you leave feeling encouraged, knowing that you can do this and you are not alone.

In light of the providence of God, we’ll spend some time discussing some practical ideas that may give your children opportunities to explore the creative side of life. In rural Alabama, we raised three children who were involved in music and drama in high school and college. One of them is actually making a career out of music and acting. Another one is a talented artist whose career is in the medical profession. The third one uses his musical gifts in church worship while serving in the military. It’s likely that at least one of your children has a creative gift that needs the opportunity to develop. Help them find an open door.

Sam is going to share our family’s vision of what we saw that scripture taught concerning the Christian family. Our highest calling as fathers is to “train up a child in the discipline and instruction of the Lord” Ephesians 6:4 [ESV]. This training was based on our family philosophy, and it was used to form these four points: 1. Start early 2. Teach fundamentals 3. Protect their environment 4. Practice, practice, practice We patterned our training from a sports perspective.

In this workshop, we will use Ecclesiastes 3 as a springboard to explore the seasons in a woman's life. We will be looking at God's purpose for ourselves, as well as for our children in each phase of life. Join us as we learn how God works to provide a rewarding harvest for those who are willing to yield themselves His plan.

Conflict arises when parents least expect it, but it is a normal part of family life. Christian Discipline (child training…not punishment) in the home is essential for healthy relationships and creating an atmosphere where God is honored and learning begins. Unfortunately, accomplishing that goal from the toddler years to the teenage years is difficult and confusing. In this fast-paced, how-to workshop, Roger and Jan will share practical ways of dealing with common areas of conflict from a Biblical perspective.

A homeschool dad can sometimes feel like an outsider – going to work and then coming home to hear about his family’s activities. In this candid session, 25 year homeschool veterans Steve & Annette Economides share the 5 things Steve did to unintentionally undermine his wife and children, and 5 things God taught him to restore and build-up his family. When was the last time you laughed? Do you remember when you laughed so hard that it made your stomach hurt? Children laugh way more than adults. What would happen if we laughed just a little bit more each day? What if we chose laughter instead of raised voices or tears? Family should be a safe place where we can giggle, laugh, and sing together. With a combination of her experience as a professional counselor and her natural ability to bring out lots of laughter in her audiences, Jeni's presentation will leave you with a lighter heart and tangible ways to keep things in perspective with all the "togetherness" in real-life family.

Then you’re probably raising boys! Psalms 16:11 " You have made known to me the path of life. You will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." If you are ever tormented or your faith is ever weak, or if you've just had enough; hold on, hold on. God finds pleasure in you. This session invites women to experience pleasurable moments with God...joy, peace, happiness and righteousness. Joyce invites you to join her in a delightful conversation as we experience the pleasure of His presence.

Because none of it will matter if they don’t follow Christ. Many homeschoolers hope and pray that because they’ve homeschooled, their children will turn out all right. But unfortunately, we are seeing a number of homeschooled children turning away from God in rebellion. We can’t make our children serve Christ, but we can make sure we aren’t standing in the way! Find out about the power of delighting in your children and loving them as Christ loves us. Hear how to point them to the Savior and teach them to serve Him!

Exactly what is homeschooling and how do I start? Is it legal? Do I have to have a degree? Where do I find my curriculum? Is a virtual academy the same as homeschool? These and many other questions plague most families just starting on the homeschool journey. This workshop is designed to answer the basic questions and help you on your way to a successful homeschool journey.

Our culture believes that the key to every kind of success in life is a college degree. A degree is a powerful tool for success, but some of the most important strategies needed to be successful and live out God’s purpose in your life aren’t taught in college. In this presentation you will learn what those three strategies for success are, and how following them can help students be better prepared for life, success, and college.

As moms, we are so used to putting others first - our spouse, our children, our aging parents, our church, our hairdresser's third cousin's next-door neighbor - you get the point! While we are called to serve, if we don't care for our physical health, we won't be able to serve for long. Come learn the 4 pillars of good health and how to harness the power of habits to get and stay healthy. We'll discuss what's essential, and determine what's "nice but not necessary." We'll also troubleshoot those crazy seasons of life like having a newborn, a family crisis, the holiday season, and more.

In this refreshing workshop, participants will learn how to nurture their preschooler’s mind and soul through play in order to prepare a firm foundation for the delights and demands of a classical education. Wonder is the fuel for a lifetime of learning, and parents will learn how to cultivate this in their children and win it back for themselves!

Everyone says homeschooling is a lifestyle, not just an educational choice. If so, then why are we surprised when it affects our marriage? Come to this funny and practical session to find out how wives can have something left for their husbands by the end of the day, and how husbands can understand the burdens their wives face. Let’s make sure homeschooling makes our marriages stronger - and more fun, too!

It makes no sense to pour our lives into homeschooling only to stumble at the finish line. We’ve got to pass the baton of Christian adulthood to our children, and it can’t happen overnight. Hal and Melanie talk about this critical time in our children’s lives, and how to transition from the benevolent dictator our eleven year-olds need to the trusted advisor of our adult children. Let’s all finish well and prepare our sons and daughters to be responsible adults and servants of the Most High, even when we can’t make them anymore!

Homeschooling places great demands on parents and leads to great expectations. This combination often sets us up for an intense sense of failure and disappointment. Homeschooling doesn’t always go according to our plans. Even when we are doing our best to follow God and love our families, we may find ourselves in the “fiery furnace.” In this workshop, Zan Tyler explores the causes of burnout and talks about ways to avoid them. She also explains what to do if you are already there—ready to throw in the towel and put your children on that appealing yellow school bus. This workshop contains many practical tips on streamlining your life, but it also focuses on developing a powerful, biblical vision of what you are ultimately trying to accomplish in the lives of your children through homeschooling—to sustain you through the hard times and difficult days.

When you look at your children, do you see only little people making demands on your time? Or do you see what God sees—a landscape of limitless possibilities? Author and homeschool mother Zan Tyler wants to take you beyond the demands of everyday life to embrace a wondrous, life-giving vision for your children’s future. You will learn to recognize the signs of potential in your children’s lives—signs that are easy to miss yet ripe for cultivation. You will begin to see every facet of each child’s life through the eyes of faith and the lens of Scripture and to create a vision of hope and beauty. You will also look to the Master Gardener as you learn to use the tools He has given you for cultivating that child’s potential. Let Zan show you how to help your kids establish a godly identity, build deep relationships, discover their unique purpose, develop a biblical worldview, and build leadership and communication skills. You will come away with a vision of child-raising so captivating and enthralling that you will know, come bedtime, it’s all been well worth the effort.

Have you really considered your vision for homeschooling? Do you have clear goals you are striving toward? Are they purely academic, or do they include goals like discipling and connecting with your children? Many times we lose sight of the most important goals in lieu of the “book” side of homeschooling. The focus of this workshop is to encourage parents to consider and prioritize the relational aspects of our homeschooling journey – connecting our heart with the hearts of our children.
