In this session, we will reflect on the vital role we have as parents in the spiritual, moral, and academic formation of our children. Beyond textbooks and school subjects, homeschooling is a unique opportunity to disciple our children intentionally, in alignment with the principles and values of God’s Kingdom. We’ll explore what the Bible says about the responsibility God has entrusted to us, and how we can live out that calling within the daily rhythm of home education. Together, we’ll talk about how to cultivate an environment that nurtures faith, character, and wisdom—integrating academic learning with spiritual growth. This session is designed to encourage, inspire, and equip you so that your homeschool journey is not only effective, but eternally meaningful.

Forensic science has captivated the attention of our culture, but have you ever considered that this science is historical in nature and subject to the scientist’s bias? Are you curious how forensic science should be viewed through the lens of the Bible? Did you know that humans, primates, and marsupials share fingerprint patterns, but their distinct structural differences refute evolutionary ideas? This presentation will provide an in-depth look into forensic science and how God’s fingerprint designs support the truth of the biblical creation described in Genesis.

Young adults today are struggling. It's not exactly a revelatory statement–one only needs to glance at the closest high school or university to see it clearly. A hopeless and profound lack of direction is a hallmark of our culture, and these problems are so pervasive that even young adults fortunate enough to come from solid, Christian homes still deal with shades of these issues. What are we to tell them? In this session, Trent offers a practical perspective on hope, and how it inspires the kind of resilient lifestyle that allows today’s young adults to face failure undefeated.

We live in a society that is very confused about their identity. They think that an individual can define and determine everything about themselves including their gender. What does the Bible say about sex and gender? Are they separate? Are there only two? What about people who have gender/sex abnormalities? Is there any biological or genetic basis for transgender or homosexuality? Let’s take a look at what God’s Word says and see how science confirms and supports the truths of God’s Word. God created us as His image bearers and as our Creator He is not confused about who He made us!

Many experts, theorists, and scientists claim that science contradicts the Bible and is therefore fallible, inaccurate, and cannot be trusted. But what we find in the truth of God’s word is that an all-knowing God established laws of nature that govern the study of scientific principles. The word science means knowledge. God is knowledge (Psalm 139), and He created our understanding of knowledge about Him and his creation (Genesis 1:26-27). Based on this understanding, it is clear that science cannot exist without the knowledge of God (Proverbs 2:6). Through the lens of the Bible, this presentation will examine the origins of science (knowledge), explain the difference between historical and observational science, and show examples of how science confirms the Bible.

“Choose this day whom you will serve . . . as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 Are you walking in bondage or freedom? Following faith or fear? Whether you feel like a slave to your curriculum, systems of thought, the pressures people place on your shoulders, or something else . . . it was for freedom that Christ set us free—and it’s time to walk in it.

A look at why the Genesis record is so vital to a sound understanding, not only of the origins of the world, but also of the major New Testament doctrines. We show why the creation days were literal, 24-hour periods - not millions of years. This session also includes a contrast of the results of a society that teaches evolution as opposed to the creation model.

In a self-centered, entitled culture, Christian parents want more for our kids. We were created to serve others, but it doesn’t just happen. It takes intentional parenting and a personal desire to serve. Learn how to incorporate an attitude of service in your family, beginning in your home and taking it to your neighbors, your city, and the world!

This session provides a biblical alternative to the standard explanation for these creatures, and answers the basic questions everyone has on the subject - What were dinosaurs? When did they live? What really happened to them? Does the Bible talk about them?

Bible literacy is a growing concern in the church, even among those who grew up in Christian homes. Sometimes our kids know the Sunday School stories, but they don’t know how to read and study the Word for themselves. This session will discuss the case for Bible literacy, why it’s important to find resources that dive deeper than simply learning Bible facts, plus how families can start studying whole books of the Bible together – even if you never learned yourself!

This is one of the most breathtaking and perplexing sites in the world. Standard geological explanations for its formation are wrong, and most creationists have overlooked some major pieces of the puzzle. Amazingly, what carved the canyon also explains most of the fascinating geological features in the entire area (e.g. Monument Valley, The Petrified Forest, Canyonlands & Arches, Canyon de Chelley, etc.). Furthermore, they all formed very quickly! What happened?

Homeschooling parents are well aware of the shocking statistics of how many of our kids walk away from the faith and values upon which they were raised. The world around them has embraced moral relativism. If the Biblical values that built western civilization are to be restored, the next generation must be equipped to be counter-culture revolutionaries for truth, justice, and the old American way.

Deborah will share how the Bible has made an impact on her homeschooling and how it can change yours. Do your children know the Biblical reasons they are homeschooling? Do they know why they don’t participate in things other kids participate in? Do they have the tools they need for life to battle sin, defeat the enemy, and answer their peers and culture? Find out the importance of the Bible in the homeschool. It’s as important as life and death! Deborah Wuehler is the Senior Editor of The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine whose goal is to glorify God and strengthen homeschoolers in their commitment to keep their children Home Where They Belong.

The world, the flesh, and the devil are vying for the minds of our kids, often in such subtle ways that it goes unnoticed until they are in crisis. This session will delve into multiple venues in which our thoughts, our time, and our choices are influenced by our worldview. We will put many of these examples to the test of a biblical worldview with the goal of heightening awareness of where “little foxes” creep in and seek to spoil (Song of Solomon 2:15).

If you have more than one child, you know first-hand that they come to us uniquely “crafted” by our Heavenly Father--no two are alike! This fact is especially challenging when homeschooling and trying to plan what to teach. This session will: • Address the imperative given to us in Proverbs 22:6 to “Train up a child in the way he should go [and in keeping with his individual gift or bent]” (Amplified Bible), • Include several “personality” test options to help you understand your children and how they learn best, and • Provide teaching/learning strategies to help you utilize this information to inform your homeschooling efforts.
